Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed all the officers of Inland Revenue Service (IRS) and Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) to submit asset declaration of personal and family members as concealing of providing false information is punishable under Removal from Service Ordinance (RSO) 2000.
In an official memo issued to all chief commissioners of Large Taxpayers Units (LTUs)/Regional Tax Offices (RTOs), all chief collectors of customs, all directors general of IR/Customs, all commissioners IR etc for providing Performance Evaluation Reports (PERs) and Declaration of Assets for fiscal year 2016/2017 of the officers of IRS/PCS and ex-cadre.
The official memo said that the PERs should be submitted by countersigning officer by July 31. It said that despite repeated reminders/instructions issued from time to time PERs for the year 2016 as well as PERs of previous years of various officers have not yet been received.
It further said that in the absence of up to date PERs the performance evaluation of officers due for promotion, mandatory trainings for promotion or posting abroad etc. cannot be properly judged and such cases are thus considerably delayed for want of up to date PERs record.
